2022 is coming to a close and what a year it was! A few items from the news were the Winter Olympics, Queen Elizabeth’s 50th Jubilee and passing, the continuation of COVID, shockwaves in the Social Media world, the MLB lockout, Russia, Hurricane Ian, and the Mauna Loa Volcano.
This was also the year of high fuel prices, high inflation, and higher interest rates. Supply Chain issues continued to plague our nation. Retail theft has sadly become the new normal and now we are reading of more retailers considering closing additional locations in areas where people need them most.
Retailers Feeling the Pinch
All of the factors above and many more have contributed to an interesting year for retailers, supermarkets and others that supply products to the consumer. Most retailers have felt the pinch of not having enough staff to meet demands for workers in their various locations. This lack of a willing work force has also forced retailers to rethink their business plans.
Over the past year I have spoken to a number of retailers that have been downsizing their unproductive locations. Many of these same retailers are also closing locations where they can not get enough staff to properly maintain the customer service that their customers are accustomed to.
SAM is Up to the Challenge!
The team at SAM Auctions has followed these changes in the retail environment over the past couple of years. We have added team members over the past year to help keep up with the increasing demands of our clients for store closures, relocations and remodels. Currently we have coverage for all of the lower 48 states and Hawaii for auctions, liquidation, and clean-outs.
Upgrades to Our Digital Marketing System
SAM Auctions has spent the past two years focusing on improvements with our core systems such as digital marketing, social media, communication with our clients and also adding as many active bidders to our database as possible. Why does any of this matter to retailers? Our digital marketing team specializes in finding potential bidders surrounding our auctions. Many auction houses email their bidder list and post on their web sites. What sets SAM apart is that in addition to posting our sales online and emailing our database, we actively reach out to local companies within a 100 mile radius to make them aware of the auction. We also have enhanced our social media presence. This also allows our clients to have the best visibility for their auctions.
